
New to Knitting
I've just finished my first knitting project! After taking the weaving course, I decided to pick up another hobby, because why not?! I popped into Holland Road Yarn Company and the lady there was very kind and help me get started with a knitting project - a classic beanie hat! I've used a beautiful soft mustard wool by Brooklyn Tweed and it was actually very nice to knit with! Food is Happiness
This year, I have been doing a lot of baking, and my latest obsession is shortbread. The Caker has a great shortbread recipe in her latest book - Sunday Baking. I've adapted the recipe by adding freeze dried fruit powder. I made 2 types - Passionfruit shortbread dipped in dark chocolate with freeze dried raspberries sprinkled on top, and Lime shortbread dipped in dark chocolate with shopped pistachios sprinkled on top. Experimenting with Textiles
I've just done a weaving workshop with Niche Textile Studios, run by Christine Brimer, and it was fantastic! I learnt all about how a table loom works, and we spent some time weaving up a cushion cover. It's a pretty relaxing process once you get the hang of it and it's quite satisfying to be able to create patterns. It's quite amazing how something relatively simple like a table loom can quickly create intricate and delicate patterns into a piece of fabric. The more I unders
