Hej, Sweden!
Our last leg of the journey begins in Göteborg, the second largest city in Sweden. We arrive from Oslo on the train and it's a bit of a shock to the system going from 3 degrees to 21 degrees. It's Friday night and the area we are staying in is busy with people heading to bars for after work drinks. I quite enjoy the festive atmosphere but Maurizio is a bit grumpy and looking forward to some peace and quiet. We check in and then head to Moon Thai for dinner - it's just around

Norway - A Scenic Journey on the Flåm Railway to Oslo
We booked a self guided tour with Fjord Tours called Norway in a Nutshell, that include a scenic trip from Bergen to Oslo. Our journey begins with a train ride from Bergen to Voss, and then a bus ride from Voss to Gudvangen. In Gudvangen, we board another fjord cruise to Flåm, where we will be staying for a night. I am a bit disappointed that we didn't get to stop in Voss at all, as I would have liked to explore a bit - that was the drawback of doing the tour we did. It's des

Norway - The Beautiful Fjords of Bergen
Early in the morning, we catch a plane from Copenhagen to Bergen, and arrive to a rather quiet airport. We are staying at the Magic Hotel in Solheimsviken, and the hotels are actually designed by Karim Rashid. I'm not a huge fan of Karim Rashid's work myself, his designs tend to be very loud and made of plastics, whereas I have a preference for the exact opposite aesthetic - more natural materials such as wood, and more sophisticated and muted colour palettes. Nevertheless, I

Copenhagen, I love you - Part 2
We decide to do the very European thing and hire bikes for a ride around Copenhagen. Now it's been a while since I hopped on a bike but it's true once you learn to ride you don't forget. It took me about 10 mins to get used to the sensation and balance again but after that I was feeling pretty good. My bike even had a basket for me to put my camera bag and drink bottle in, score! The bike lanes in Copenhagen are very well marked and generous, so it's pretty comfortable to bik

Copenhagen, I love you - Part 1
As a young design student, I fell in love with Danish design. I loved the simplicity and authenticity that is embraced, and there is no other nation I would rather be looking to for design inspiration. I have wanted to visit Copenhagen for so long, and I can't believe I'm finally here! The streets here are just amazing. All the houses we passed by on our train journey from Amsterdam to Copenhagen were just so gorgeous. Side note: We had 5 transfers for our train from Amsterda

Amster DAYAM
So I'm skipping over our 2 day stop in London because lets face it, London is boring as hell and I didn't want to be there. Maurizio can attest as to how unhappy I was about leaving Iceland for LONDON of all places. We pretty much caught up on sleep and meet up with some friends while we were there, but then took the train from London to Amsterdam via Brussels. We arrived in Amsterdam around 6pm and took a shuttle straight to our hotel, Hampton by Hilton in Schiphol near the
